Train Up A Child In the Way They Should Go

Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
Our Children’s Ministry has something for all ages – Nursery 0-2, 3-5, and Kindergarten-5th grade.
We teach the Word of God in a fun, interactive way that captivates them with the love of God.
Children are like sponges, and we are purposeful during these impressionable years to lead them to Jesus and God’s Word.
New and exciting things are happening in our Children’s Ministries, and we would love for your kids to be a part!
In the nursery, they play, have snacks, and give feedings (provided by the parent/guardian). Volunteers sing children’s songs, hold the babies, rock them, etc.
Ages 3-5 sing children’s songs and have a Bible lesson. They also color and do other activities.
During Sunday School, the Kindergarteners-5th graders have Scripture memorization with prizes and a Bible lesson. On Wednesday nights they have a bible lesson, activities, and usually pizza!
All the classes are given snacks. If your child is age 3-5 we have an allergy and info page that we’ll ask you to fill out. We also ask the parents of nursery-age kids about their snacks.
We ask for the cell number of parents of children in the nursery. If the parent is needed we’ll send them a text.

Mrs. Hill grew up in Miami, Florida, and in 1997 moved to Oklahoma and began attending Rhema Bible Training Center in 1998-2000. While preparing for RBTC, she met Jared Hill and was married in 2001. In 2003 they felt called to come to Kenedy and assist her in-laws in the vision God placed on their hearts many years ago. She oversees TWFC’s Nursery and Children’s Church.
6-11 Year-olds

Mrs. Castillo gave her heart and life to the Lord when she was 27 years old. It was at that time she and her husband knew they were going to serve the Lord. They came to The Word Fellowship Church in 2012. Not long after that, she was helping with the children’s ministry. It is her desire to teach children the Word of God, so they can be equipped to use it in their everyday life.
service schedule
Sunday Mornings –
- Nursery – Ages 0-2 (2nd service only)
- Sunday school (10 – 10:40 am) – All Ages
- Children’s Church – Ages 3 – 5 (2nd service only)
- Kindergarten – 5th graders stay in the main service
Wednesday Nights –
- No nursery (parents/guardians are welcome to use it if needed)
- Ages 3 -5 go to their classes at the beginning
- Everyone else meets in the main sanctuary for worship. Afterward, the kids are dismissed to go to their classes (Kindergarten – 5th grade)
